E100-89

ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED

2 Timothy 3:10—4:8

Kevin's Commentary

You are encouraged to go through steps or process scripture in these steps:

  • Pray = in anticipation of what God wants you to discover. Lord God, Your Word, the Bible, is a very special gift and I am very grateful to You for giving it.
  • Read = with purpose look for what God is trying to communicate. You may want to read out of several translations and highlight key words.
  • Reflect = on the context and put yourself in the shoes of people at that time. Do you believe the Bible is true? Why? What role does the Bible play in your life? Have you ever encountered false teaching? How did the Bible guide you?
    • God is ... What do we learn about God?
    • We are ... What do we learn about people?
    • Paul says that those who want to live a godly life will be persecuted. What do you suppose he meant? Has it happened to you? Explain.
    • According to Paul, the Bible comes directly from God. Does it really matter if the Bible is true? Why? Do you believe it is? Explain.
  • Apply = information without application is fruitless. Decide on some practical steps you can take for fulfill what God wants you to do. Make a commitment to continue Bible reading and prayer after the E100 is over. Find a Bible reading plan to begin using on “day 101.”
  • Pray = yielding to God to empower you to do what the word convicted you to do. Lord, impress on me again how important it is to know and live by Your Word, the Bible.
